Connecting a Nokia C2-01 to Linux using gammu

I am using a fairly old mobile phone to do my work-related stuff and I came accross something which sounds fairly simple at first glance but isn’t as simple as it sounds.

I am using a GNU/Linux “Trisquel” system (Beleneos) which is based on ubuntu 14.04 but runs a Linux Libre Kernel and what I wanted to do is to synchronize the contacts, calender etc.

Apparently there are several solutions and I used the combination of the mobile phone tools “gammu” and its frontend “wammu” to connect the phone.

Bluetooth is working just fine and I can get the calender entries okay. So far so good.

But one thing that I found was that my version of gammu doesn’t seem to put in the model-line in its configuration file which by default is located in ~/.gammurc

I notified the developer of the gammu-tools and offered him to sponsor his development so that everyone in the Free Software community can benefit from his further developments. He has a Twitter account which I am linking below.
